One Last Ride, In Loving Memory of Ron

For many people, motorcycles are more than a hobby, they represent freedom, adventure, and a lifetime of memories. For our hospice patient Ron, they represented a life well lived and countless miles spent on the open road.

Ron wished for one more ride. Determined to make it happen, family, friends, local motorcycle riders, and our hospice team turned his wish into reality.

On a bright summer day, the unmistakable rumble of motorcycles filled the air as riders arrived at our Hospice Home. Though he was no longer strong enough to climb into the sidecar on his own, several rugged bikers gently lifted him with remarkable care and respect. Their strength was matched only by their kindness.

As everyone gathered around, stories were shared, memories were swapped, and laughter filled the air. For a while, the focus wasn’t on illness, it was on friendship, motorcycles, and a lifetime of adventures.

Surrounded by people who understood what the ride meant, he smiled, laughed, and looked like himself again.

He settled into the sidecar as the motorcycles rolled out. A second sidecar carried his wife, Beverly. Faces lit up with smiles as he headed off for one last ride.

It wasn’t simply a motorcycle ride. It was a gift of dignity, joy, and love. It was a wife honoring the man she loved, a community coming together, and compassionate friends and strangers helping create a memory his family will treasure forever.

At Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions, we believe hospice is about helping people live as fully as possible, creating meaningful moments, and honoring the passions and relationships that make each person’s life unique.

Because every moment matters.

Help Create More Moments Like This
