My mother, Barbara Sprenger, was a client of yours for a very short time. Chris did her initial evaluation on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, and Barbara passed a week later on Tuesday, November 19. 2024.

In that week, we had a few visits from various staff members, and our contact with each and every individual was amazing. They were all understanding and very supportive of our difficult journey of saying goodbye to my mother, and most importantly, helping us find a way to make her more comfortable on her journey, which was quite difficult as she was not very willing to take pain medications to help her relax.

Each day, managing her pain seemed so daunting. After a difficult morning, I called to have a nurse visit to assist with administering pain medications. It was clear my mom was distraught and needed some relief. However, I was unable to get her to take an adequate dose due to her combative behavior caused by dementia from Alzheimer’s disease.

I’ll never forget this particular nurse visit because it was almost as if my prayers were answered. Nurse Heaven arrived in a timely manner, and she could see that Barbara was very distraught and definitely needed pain relief. Barbara was not exactly willing to take medication from her either, but with Heaven’s calming voice and overall nature, she was able to get Barbara to relax enough in order to administer the medications.

I have always been a believer of God and Heaven, but never did I feel my prayers would ever be answered in this manner. It was like Heaven was sent from Heaven in order to help my mom get there. Not only did she explain exactly why it is necessary to bring calming relief to a patient, but she gave that to my mom as well. It’s like she came to lead the pathway to Heaven for my mom.

Heaven helped us with a schedule for the medications in order to keep my mom comfortable from this point forward.

That afternoon, Mom’s close friend stopped in to visit. At first, Mom was not really present, however, after encouraging her friend to continue talking, Mom eventually realized it was her friend. They chatted briefly, which was amazing since Mom had barely spoken in a week.

My dad, sister, and I had the wonderful last gift of playing with Mom and giving her, what would be her last sips of Pepsi, after about 5 days with no food/drink. Mom played with the dogs, laughed, smiled, and interacted as best as she was able to.

That was our gift from Heaven!! Mom never woke up again after going to bed that night and passed peacefully the next morning. Mom was no longer suffering in her strange world of dementia.

Every staff member was instrumental in this journey. You all are truly very special and amazing at what you do. Thank you for sharing your gifts with my family and exceptional care you provided.
