To Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions,

I’m sorry it has taken me a year to write this letter. It has been on my calendar each month for a year, but here it is one year after my beloved husband, Charles Foldenauer, passed away in your facility.

There are no words to describe my deep gratitude to Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions (CWHT) during the most difficult time of our lives. The week prior to my husband’s passing, I was in desperate need of help and reached out to CWHT. After a long stay at Banner Medical Center, we found ourselves making the most difficult decision of allowing my husband to leave this earth with understanding and dignity, and without long suffering.

It was with one call to CWHT that an angel came to my needs, and that was Tia. She responded with such grace and understanding. With her guidance and persistence, we were able to transfer my husband into hospice care. Unfortunately, his stay was less than a day.

The utmost respect and care shown to Charles, me, and our family was like nothing I’d ever experienced in a medical facility. The guidance given, the requests honored, the love and sincerity of their role was obvious, and the privacy they gave my family and me to be with Charles when he passed at CWHT is why I can accept the last moments of his life with peace and acceptance.

I am forever grateful!

Thank you for the monthly notes, grief guidance, and support. Thank you for not forgetting. It meant so much!

Please know how vitally important your role is. Please keep educating people and hospitals about the importance of allowing the body to die as it knows how to do. Please keep making patients comfortable and peaceful during this process. Because for this I am so very grateful!
